The 192nd Wing is an operational unit of the United States Air Force (USAF). This wing primarily serves under the jurisdiction of the Air National Guard, although it can be mobilized for federal active duty if required. The wing's headquarters are located in Topeka, Kansas, with additional units stationed across Kansas and Missouri. The 192nd Wing was established on January 1, 1994, as a result of the reorganization of the former Kansas Air National Guard (KANANG) wings. It operates under the air expeditionary force concept, meaning that it can be rapidly deployed worldwide to execute air and space operations in support of combatant commands. The wing's aircraft inventory consists primarily of the F-16 Fighting Falcon fighter jets, with additional units operating E-3 Sentry Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) aircraft. The 192nd Wing also maintains a strong support structure, including maintenance, logistics, medical, communications, and administrative units. Throughout its history, the 192nd Wing has been called upon for numerous domestic and international missions, ranging from disaster relief to combat operations.
