Description/Blazon:
A vertical gold arrowhead pointing upward with red flames beneath. Above the arrowhead is a red fleur-de-lis, and it surmounts a blue chevron with four embattlements. The inscription "IN HONOR WE DEFEND" in gold letters curves at the opposite corners of the chevron in base and descends behind it.
Symbolism:
Scarlet and gold are the colors associated with Artillery. The embattled chevron represents support and strength, with the four embattlements signifying the four battle honors earned in Germany and France during World War II, as symbolized by the fleur-de-lis. The flaming arrow denotes the unit's role in Air Defense missiles.
Background:
The distinctive unit insignia was originally approved for the 19th Artillery Group on October 14, 1969, and redesignated for the 19th Air Defense Artillery Group on April 5, 1972.
