The 69th Infantry Regiment is a unit of the United States Army, tracing its roots back to the early days of the American Revolutionary War. Known colloquially as "The Fighting Sixty-Ninth," it has seen active service in various conflicts, including World War I, World War II, and the Vietnam War. During World War I, the regiment was deployed to France where it played a crucial role in the Aisne-Marne, St. Mihiel, and Meuse-Argonne offensives. In World War II, the 69th participated in the Normandy landings and fought in the Battle of Hurtgen Forest, among others. The regiment's most recent major combat engagement was during the Vietnam War, where it served tours of duty in I Corps from 1966 to 1970. Today, the 69th Infantry Regiment is part of the U.S. Army's 25th Infantry Division and continues to uphold its motto: "Loyalty, Courage, and Discipline."
