The Coat of Arms of Montenegro is the national symbol of the country and a significant part of its official heraldry. It was officially adopted on May 20, 2004, replacing the previous coat of arms used since 1993. The design features a golden two-tailed eagle with outstretched wings, holding a scepter in one talon and a globe in the other. The eagle sits atop a shield divided into three parts: the upper left quarter displays the historical shield of Zeta, the upper right quarter exhibits the historic shield of Travunia, and the lower half features the shield of Crnojevići dynasty. This coat of arms represents the union of Montenegro's historical regions and the continuity of its identity throughout history.
