The Coat of Arms of Poland used from 1955 to 1980 was a national symbol representing the People's Republic of Poland during that period. It combined traditional heraldic elements with modernist design, reflecting the country's post-World War II political climate. The central figure was a white eagle, Poland's longstanding national emblem, holding a golden olive branch and a golden scepter in its talons. Surrounding this main image were 25 smaller shields arranged in a semi-circular pattern, each bearing the coat of arms of one of the voivodships (regions) in Poland at the time. The outermost border of the Coat of Arms was adorned with a ribbon inscribed with the motto "God, Honor, Fatherland" in Polish ("Bóg i Ojczyzna"). The design was created by Tadeusz Trepów and officially adopted on May 15, 1955. This particular Coat of Arms was replaced in 1980 following political changes within the country.
