The Coat of Arms of Venezuela from 1811 is a heraldic symbol that represents the nation of Venezuela during the period of its independence struggle. The design features a shield divided into four quarters, with each quarter representing one of the geographical regions in Venezuela. The first quarter displays a banner inscribed with "La Union Hace La Fuerza" (Union Makes Strength), which is a motto emphasizing unity and strength. The second quarter has a representation of the Andes Mountains, symbolizing the western region of the country. The third quarter showcases an indigenous chief, representing the native population, while the fourth quarter presents a European-style castle, symbolizing the Spanish settlers. Above the shield, there's a cap of Maintenance (a crown without a visible cross) indicating sovereignty but no imperial claims. The crest consists of a palm tree and a spear, symbols of liberty. The whole design is framed by a laurel wreath, signifying victory and honor. This particular coat of arms was adopted during the Venezuelan War of Independence (1811-1823) and remained in use until the current coat of arms was introduced after Venezuela's independence in 1830.
