Emblem of the Moldavian SSR (1957-1981) - Tumbler 20oz

The Emblem of the Moldavian Soviet Socialist Republic (MSSR), used from 1957 to 1981, is a heraldic symbol that represents the political and administrative entity of the Moldavian SSR within the USSR. The emblem's design reflects the socialist ideology, emphasizing agricultural prosperity, industrial growth, and unity among the people. The central element of the emblem is a sheaf of wheat surmounted by a five-pointed red star. This arrangement symbolizes the importance of agriculture and industry in the Moldavian SSR, as well as its allegiance to the Communist ideology. The sheaf of wheat also embodies the fertile lands and rich agricultural heritage of the region. Surrounding the central motif is a wreath made up of cotton, corn, grapes, and sunflowers, which signify the diversity of crops grown in Moldova. Beneath the wreath are two branches, one of oak (representing strength) and the other of vine (symbolizing prosperity), intertwined to demonstrate unity and harmony between industry and agriculture. The outermost part of the emblem is a stylized map of the Moldavian SSR, with the capital city, Chișinău, marked by a star. The whole design is framed by a red ribbon with the inscription "Moldavian Soviet Socialist Republic" in Russian and Moldovan. This emblem served as a symbol of identity for the Moldavian SSR during its existence within the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR). It was replaced by a new design following the dissolution of the USSR in 1981, with the independent Republic of Moldova adopting its current coat of arms.
