Flag of Rivne Oblast, Ukraine The Flag of Rivne Oblast is the official symbol representing the administrative division of Ukraine known as Rivne Oblast (region). Adopted in 2001, the flag features three horizontal stripes in the colors of blue, white, and red. The top and bottom stripes, each taking up approximately one-third of the total height, are blue and red, symbolizing the historical background of Rivne Oblast which was part of Volhynia Principality, Kiev Rus', and later the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. The middle white stripe occupies the remaining space, signifying purity, truth, and peace. In the center of the white stripe, there is a golden (yellow) emblem that depicts a shield adorned with two lions passant guardant. These lions symbolize the region's coat of arms, which has been used since 1938. The flag serves as a significant cultural and historical representation for the citizens of Rivne Oblast, Ukraine.
