I Field Force Vietnam (U.S. Army) I Field Force Vietnam (I FFW) was a United States Army field force established in 1965 during the Vietnam War. It served as the primary ground combat formation of MACV (Military Assistance Command, Vietnam) under General William Westmoreland's command. The mission of I FFW was to coordinate and control all U.S. Army units in South Vietnam, with a focus on training and advisory roles for the South Vietnamese military forces.
