The Joint Medical Command (JMC) is a United States military command responsible for providing medical support to U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps forces worldwide during peacetime, contingency operations, and war. Based at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas, the JMC oversees 14 regional health commands, six direct reporting units, and multiple deployed and forward-stationed medical facilities. The mission of the JMC is to deliver a ready, capable, and responsive joint force medical capability in support of U.S. military operations. This includes providing medical training, healthcare services, medical logistics, and operational planning for U.S. forces worldwide. The JMC works closely with international partners to ensure the health and well-being of deployed personnel, as well as local populations in areas where U.S. forces are engaged.
