28th Infantry Regiment (U.S. Army) Black Coffee Mug

The 28th Infantry Regiment is a unit of the United States Army infantry branch, traceable to the early history of the American military during the Spanish-American War. Originally organized in 1901 as part of the National Guard, the regiment was federalized and incorporated into the Regular Army in 1917. The 28th Infantry Regiment has seen combat in numerous significant conflicts throughout its history, including World War I (1917-1918), World War II (1941-1945), the Korean War (1950-1953), and more recently, Operation Iraqi Freedom (2003-present). The regiment is currently part of the 4th Infantry Division stationed at Fort Carson in Colorado.
