Description/Blazon A shield with the following blazon: Or, a bendlet Gules between a horse's head erased and a grizzly bear passant Sable. Below and around the shield is a red scroll turned gold, inscribed with "CELER EUNDO CONCURSU FEROX" in gold letters.

Symbolism The yellow shield represents Cavalry, while the red bendlet signifies the unit’s service as Artillery. The horse's head is derived from the coat of arms of New Jersey, where the 302nd Cavalry is stationed. The grizzly bear is taken from the coat of arms of California, the birthplace of the regiment. The motto translates to "Swift in March, Bold in Attack."

Background The distinctive unit insignia was originally approved for the 302nd Regiment Cavalry on July 29, 1926. It was amended to change the description on January 15, 1927. The insignia was redesignated for the 302nd Cavalry Regiment on March 17, 1971.
