Description/Blazon

On a golden orange disc is depicted the head of a black panther in a three-quarter view. The panther features a red mouth, tongue, and nose tip, three black whiskers, white teeth, and white eyes with red pupils, all encircled by a red border.

Symbolism

The snarling panther represents the Division's strength, aggression, and endurance.

Background

The shoulder sleeve insignia was approved on 26 August 1943.
