The Alabama Department of Corrections (ADOC) is a state government agency responsible for administering corrections facilities, supervising probationers and parolees, and ensuring public safety within Alabama. Established by the Alabama Legislature in 1979, it oversees approximately 30 correctional institutions housing more than 25,000 incarcerated individuals. The ADOC also manages community supervision for over 64,000 individuals under probation or parole.
