Flag of Hiroshima Prefecture Japan The Flag of Hiroshima Prefecture is a symbol representing the administrative region in southwestern Honshu, Japan. Adopted on April 30, 1946, it consists of three horizontal bands of equal width, arranged from top to bottom in the order of navy blue (or dark indigo), white, and red. The colors reflect the prefecture's historical connection with the Tosa domain, an old feudal territory whose flag was similar but included a white crane symbol on the center white stripe. However, the current design, without the crane emblem, has been used since post-World War II. The flag serves as a visual representation of Hiroshima Prefecture and is often displayed during official events and ceremonies that celebrate its heritage and identity.
