The Flag of Musashino Tokyo, Japan, is the official symbol representing this city within Tokyo Metropolis. The flag features three horizontal stripes arranged from top to bottom in the proportions 2:3:2. The top and bottom stripes are white, while the middle stripe is red. In the center of the red stripe, there's a stylized cherry blossom tree (sakura) with five petals, designed in black and gold. Cherry blossoms have cultural significance in Japan, symbolizing the ephemeral nature of life. The flag was adopted in 1968 to reflect Musashino's rich history, connections to nature, and vibrant community spirit. The city of Musashino is one of Tokyo's special wards, located southwest of the capital city center. Established on October 1, 2001, it was formed by merging seven cities: Kodaira, Higashi-Murayama, Tachikawa, Fuchū, Koganei, Musashino, and Hachioji (parts).
