Background:

The distinctive unit insignia was initially approved for the 11th Artillery Group on September 1, 1971. It was redesignated for the 11th Air Defense Artillery Group on April 4, 1972, and later redesignated for the 11th Air Defense Artillery Brigade, effective December 16, 1980.
