158e regiment dinfanterie de ligne-drapeau (France) Shot Glass 1.5oz

This design shows the tricolour flag of the 158th Line Infantry Regiment of France, known as the Régiment de Lorette, with its First World War honours in gold.

Visual Elements & Composition

Blue, white and red fill the field in the traditional French tricolour arrangement, and the gold lettering sits on top of it. The layout is upright and uncluttered, so the six inscriptions do the work of the design: ALSACE 1914, ARTOIS 1915, LA SOMME 1916, LA MALMAISON 1917, L'AISNE 1918 and CHAMPAGNE 1918. The gold reads clearly against the blue and red bands, and the white field keeps the whole composition bright.

Meaning & Symbolism

Each inscription names an engagement the regiment fought in the First World War, from the opening campaign in Alsace in 1914 to the final advance on the Aisne and Champagne fronts in 1918. The Somme and Malmaison entries mark two of the heaviest fronts of the war. The regiment also received the Croix de Guerre 1914-1918 with five palms, and the fourragère in the colours of the Médaille militaire, which the design alludes to. The regiment was formed in 1887 and its honours were added through its wartime service.

Held in the Hand

A shot glass is small and held close, so the gold names are read at arm's length, the distance at which a regimental standard was watched as it passed. The tricolour bands wrap the curve of the glass, and the lettering moves as the glass is turned. It suits anyone who keeps a close record of the First World War and the regiments that fought in it.

Compact, heavy-based shot glasses made from clear, restaurant-grade glass. One standard size (1.5 oz / ≈44.3 ml) — sturdy, stack-friendly, and built to handle frequent service without fuss.

These shot glasses feel solid in the hand thanks to a thick, weighty base that keeps them steady on busy bar tops. The walls are even and clear, giving a nice, unobstructed view of the pour; the rim is smoothed for comfortable sipping.

They’re engineered for regular use: consistent dimensions, dependable weight, and a simple silhouette that suits both casual venues and more formal tasting counters. Designed to perform rather than show off.

  • Material: 100% clear glass for pure clarity and clean presentation.
  • Capacity: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml) — standard shot measure.
  • Base: heavy solid glass base that reduces tipping and improves balance.
  • Construction: restaurant-grade durability for frequent handling and washing.
  • Print-ready: suitable for single-sided print applications that withstand typical use.

Perfect for quick pours, samplers, and neat shots. Their compact footprint makes them easy to place on trays and tasting lines, while the heavier base keeps things steady during service.

  1. Bar service: quick, consistent pours — less wobble when carrying a tray of shots.
  2. Tastings: uniform size is handy for sampling flights or spirit tastings.
  3. Events: robust enough for pop-ups, festivals, and busy bartending shifts.

Storage tip: store upright and avoid tight stacking to protect rims and preserve clarity.

Dishwasher-safe for everyday cleaning — place on the top rack and use a normal household cycle. Repeated exposure to very high commercial temperatures can shorten glass life, so choose gentler programs where practical.

When you want to extend clarity and finish: hand-wash with warm water, a mild detergent, and a soft cloth; dry right away to avoid water spots. Handle by the body (not the rim) to reduce accidental chipping.

One size only: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml). Use the dimensions below for shelving, packaging, or tray planning.
