172e regiment dinfanterie de ligne-drapeau (France) Shot Glass 1.5oz

This design shows the regimental flag of the 172e Régiment d'Infanterie de Ligne, a French Army line regiment, in the national tricolour with seven gold battle honours.

Visual Elements & Composition

Vertical stripes of blue, white and red divide the field evenly, and the bands run straight from top to bottom. The layout is a plain rectangle, so the gold inscriptions do most of the work. They read "BOSSUS 1794", "FLEURUS 1794", "SPRIMONT 1794", "L'AISNE 1917", "L'AVRE 1918", "TARDENOIS 1918" and "LA SERRE 1918", set in a flat graphic style. The gold is limited to the lettering, which keeps the image formal and restrained.

Meaning & Symbolism

The honours fall into two groups. The first three are from 1794, when the unit fought in the Revolutionary Wars at Bossus, Fleurus and Sprimont. The four from 1917 and 1918 belong to the First World War, at the Aisne, the Avre, Tardenois and La Serre. The regiment was first formed in 1793 as a demi-brigade and was reconstituted as a regiment in 1913. The tricolour ties that continuous service to the French Republic.

Held close, read at once

A 1.5oz shot glass is small and held close, so the stripes and the gold lettering register together as the glass is lifted. The vertical bands follow the straight sides of the glass, and the inscriptions turn with it as it is rotated in the hand. It is a compact record of a regiment that fought in two distinct eras, and it suits a bar shelf or a display of military keepsakes.

Compact, heavy-based shot glasses made from clear, restaurant-grade glass. One standard size (1.5 oz / ≈44.3 ml) — sturdy, stack-friendly, and built to handle frequent service without fuss.

These shot glasses feel solid in the hand thanks to a thick, weighty base that keeps them steady on busy bar tops. The walls are even and clear, giving a nice, unobstructed view of the pour; the rim is smoothed for comfortable sipping.

They’re engineered for regular use: consistent dimensions, dependable weight, and a simple silhouette that suits both casual venues and more formal tasting counters. Designed to perform rather than show off.

  • Material: 100% clear glass for pure clarity and clean presentation.
  • Capacity: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml) — standard shot measure.
  • Base: heavy solid glass base that reduces tipping and improves balance.
  • Construction: restaurant-grade durability for frequent handling and washing.
  • Print-ready: suitable for single-sided print applications that withstand typical use.

Perfect for quick pours, samplers, and neat shots. Their compact footprint makes them easy to place on trays and tasting lines, while the heavier base keeps things steady during service.

  1. Bar service: quick, consistent pours — less wobble when carrying a tray of shots.
  2. Tastings: uniform size is handy for sampling flights or spirit tastings.
  3. Events: robust enough for pop-ups, festivals, and busy bartending shifts.

Storage tip: store upright and avoid tight stacking to protect rims and preserve clarity.

Dishwasher-safe for everyday cleaning — place on the top rack and use a normal household cycle. Repeated exposure to very high commercial temperatures can shorten glass life, so choose gentler programs where practical.

When you want to extend clarity and finish: hand-wash with warm water, a mild detergent, and a soft cloth; dry right away to avoid water spots. Handle by the body (not the rim) to reduce accidental chipping.

One size only: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml). Use the dimensions below for shelving, packaging, or tray planning.
