1920 Burmese student strike flag (Myanmar) Shot Glass 1.5oz

This design reproduces the 1920 Burmese student strike flag, a clean white field carrying a green peacock set inside a red circle.

Visual Elements & Composition

White fills nearly the whole field, which keeps the emblem bold and uncluttered. At its centre a green peacock with its tail displayed sits inside a red circle, and the circle is the single badge that anchors the composition. The flat vector treatment gives the bird clean outlines and the red ring a firm edge. The original flag was swallow-tailed, and the design keeps the simple, direct layout that made the emblem easy to recognise during the protests.

Meaning & Symbolism

The student U Ba Chan designed the peacock to honour the Konbaung Dynasty, the last Burmese empire, and the emblem became a symbol of resistance to colonial rule. It was first raised during the university student strike of 1920 in Rangoon. The image later grew into the khut-daung, or "fighting peacock", in 1936, a figure of ongoing nationalist defiance. Red, green and white together give the design its bold, historically rooted identity.

Made for the Shot Glass

A shot glass is small and held close, so the peacock and its red ring are read at arm's length as the glass is raised. The compact form suits a single centred badge, and the clear glass lets the white field and bright green of the bird show plainly against the table.

Compact, heavy-based shot glasses made from clear, restaurant-grade glass. One standard size (1.5 oz / ≈44.3 ml) — sturdy, stack-friendly, and built to handle frequent service without fuss.

These shot glasses feel solid in the hand thanks to a thick, weighty base that keeps them steady on busy bar tops. The walls are even and clear, giving a nice, unobstructed view of the pour; the rim is smoothed for comfortable sipping.

They’re engineered for regular use: consistent dimensions, dependable weight, and a simple silhouette that suits both casual venues and more formal tasting counters. Designed to perform rather than show off.

  • Material: 100% clear glass for pure clarity and clean presentation.
  • Capacity: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml) — standard shot measure.
  • Base: heavy solid glass base that reduces tipping and improves balance.
  • Construction: restaurant-grade durability for frequent handling and washing.
  • Print-ready: suitable for single-sided print applications that withstand typical use.

Perfect for quick pours, samplers, and neat shots. Their compact footprint makes them easy to place on trays and tasting lines, while the heavier base keeps things steady during service.

  1. Bar service: quick, consistent pours — less wobble when carrying a tray of shots.
  2. Tastings: uniform size is handy for sampling flights or spirit tastings.
  3. Events: robust enough for pop-ups, festivals, and busy bartending shifts.

Storage tip: store upright and avoid tight stacking to protect rims and preserve clarity.

Dishwasher-safe for everyday cleaning — place on the top rack and use a normal household cycle. Repeated exposure to very high commercial temperatures can shorten glass life, so choose gentler programs where practical.

When you want to extend clarity and finish: hand-wash with warm water, a mild detergent, and a soft cloth; dry right away to avoid water spots. Handle by the body (not the rim) to reduce accidental chipping.

One size only: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml). Use the dimensions below for shelving, packaging, or tray planning.
