1931 Flag of India (India) Shot Glass 1.5oz

A horizontal tricolour of saffron, white and green with a blue spinning wheel at its centre, the Swaraj flag adopted by the Indian National Congress in 1931.

Visual Elements & Composition

Three equal horizontal bands fill the rectangle, saffron on top, white in the middle and green below. The blue charkha, a spinning wheel with its spokes drawn as a clean outline, sits at the centre of the white band and is the only figure in the design. Nothing else competes with it, so the eye moves from the bold colour bands to the wheel and stays there.

Meaning & Symbolism

The flag was adopted at the Karachi session of the Indian National Congress in August 1931, when it served as the Swaraj flag during the independence movement. Saffron stands for courage and sacrifice, white for peace and truth, and green for faith. The charkha expresses the idea of self-reliance, a principle that ran through the movement and the spinning of cloth that came with it.

Where the Wheel Meets the Glass

A 1.5oz shot glass is small and held close, so the flag comes up near the eye as the glass is lifted. The horizontal bands wrap around the narrow wall, and the charkha sits in plain view at the centre of the glass. It is a compact way to carry a piece of the movement's history, and the bands are easy to read even at close range.

Compact, heavy-based shot glasses made from clear, restaurant-grade glass. One standard size (1.5 oz / ≈44.3 ml) — sturdy, stack-friendly, and built to handle frequent service without fuss.

These shot glasses feel solid in the hand thanks to a thick, weighty base that keeps them steady on busy bar tops. The walls are even and clear, giving a nice, unobstructed view of the pour; the rim is smoothed for comfortable sipping.

They’re engineered for regular use: consistent dimensions, dependable weight, and a simple silhouette that suits both casual venues and more formal tasting counters. Designed to perform rather than show off.

  • Material: 100% clear glass for pure clarity and clean presentation.
  • Capacity: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml) — standard shot measure.
  • Base: heavy solid glass base that reduces tipping and improves balance.
  • Construction: restaurant-grade durability for frequent handling and washing.
  • Print-ready: suitable for single-sided print applications that withstand typical use.

Perfect for quick pours, samplers, and neat shots. Their compact footprint makes them easy to place on trays and tasting lines, while the heavier base keeps things steady during service.

  1. Bar service: quick, consistent pours — less wobble when carrying a tray of shots.
  2. Tastings: uniform size is handy for sampling flights or spirit tastings.
  3. Events: robust enough for pop-ups, festivals, and busy bartending shifts.

Storage tip: store upright and avoid tight stacking to protect rims and preserve clarity.

Dishwasher-safe for everyday cleaning — place on the top rack and use a normal household cycle. Repeated exposure to very high commercial temperatures can shorten glass life, so choose gentler programs where practical.

When you want to extend clarity and finish: hand-wash with warm water, a mild detergent, and a soft cloth; dry right away to avoid water spots. Handle by the body (not the rim) to reduce accidental chipping.

One size only: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml). Use the dimensions below for shelving, packaging, or tray planning.
