1949 Malaya Flag Proposal 1 (Malaysia) Shot Glass 1.5oz

This design reproduces one of the 1949 flag proposals for the Federation of Malaya: a deep blue field with two crossed red kris at its centre, ringed by eleven white stars.

Visual Elements & Composition

The blue field fills the whole surface and dominates the composition. Two red kris cross at the middle, and a circle of eleven white five-pointed stars surrounds them, so the eye moves from the centre outward around the ring. The flat vector style keeps the lines clean and the palette to red, white and blue, which reads sharply at the small scale of a shot glass.

Meaning & Symbolism

The eleven stars stand for the equal standing of the federation's eleven states and settlements, and the kris, the traditional Malayan dagger, stands for Malayan identity. The red, white and blue palette draws on several state flags and the Union Jack. The design was one of three final entries in a 1949 competition, but it was never adopted, which makes it a record of how the federation pictured itself before independence.

Where the Glass Meets the Hand

A shot glass is small and held close, so the crossed kris sit right in front of the eye as the glass is raised. The stars are arranged around the whole rim of the design, so the ring stays visible from any angle, a quiet piece of regional history for the home bar.

Compact, heavy-based shot glasses made from clear, restaurant-grade glass. One standard size (1.5 oz / ≈44.3 ml) — sturdy, stack-friendly, and built to handle frequent service without fuss.

These shot glasses feel solid in the hand thanks to a thick, weighty base that keeps them steady on busy bar tops. The walls are even and clear, giving a nice, unobstructed view of the pour; the rim is smoothed for comfortable sipping.

They’re engineered for regular use: consistent dimensions, dependable weight, and a simple silhouette that suits both casual venues and more formal tasting counters. Designed to perform rather than show off.

  • Material: 100% clear glass for pure clarity and clean presentation.
  • Capacity: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml) — standard shot measure.
  • Base: heavy solid glass base that reduces tipping and improves balance.
  • Construction: restaurant-grade durability for frequent handling and washing.
  • Print-ready: suitable for single-sided print applications that withstand typical use.

Perfect for quick pours, samplers, and neat shots. Their compact footprint makes them easy to place on trays and tasting lines, while the heavier base keeps things steady during service.

  1. Bar service: quick, consistent pours — less wobble when carrying a tray of shots.
  2. Tastings: uniform size is handy for sampling flights or spirit tastings.
  3. Events: robust enough for pop-ups, festivals, and busy bartending shifts.

Storage tip: store upright and avoid tight stacking to protect rims and preserve clarity.

Dishwasher-safe for everyday cleaning — place on the top rack and use a normal household cycle. Repeated exposure to very high commercial temperatures can shorten glass life, so choose gentler programs where practical.

When you want to extend clarity and finish: hand-wash with warm water, a mild detergent, and a soft cloth; dry right away to avoid water spots. Handle by the body (not the rim) to reduce accidental chipping.

One size only: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml). Use the dimensions below for shelving, packaging, or tray planning.
