1949 Malaya Flag Proposal 1-new (Malaysia) Shot Glass 1.5oz

Dark blue dominates this reworked 1949 Malayan flag proposal, where two crossed red kris anchor the centre and eleven white stars form a circle around them.

Visual Elements & Composition

Nearly the entire surface is a deep navy blue, which gives the design its weight. The two red kris cross at the middle, and the eleven five-pointed white stars sit in an unbroken ring around that central emblem. Red and white appear only in small amounts, so the blue field and the star circle carry the composition. The flat vector drawing keeps every edge crisp, which helps the ring stay legible on a small glass.

Meaning & Symbolism

The stars were meant to stand for the nine Malay states and the two Settlements of the period, bringing them together under one emblem. The kris, the traditional Malayan dagger, expresses the identity and age of Malayan heritage. This proposal was one of three finalists in a national design competition held in 1949, and it was not adopted as the country's flag.

Shaped for the Shot Glass

A shot glass is small and held close, so the star ring wraps the eye the moment the glass comes up. The crossed kris sit near the middle of the glass, where they stay visible as the drink is tipped, a compact piece of regional history made for a home bar or a shared table.

Compact, heavy-based shot glasses made from clear, restaurant-grade glass. One standard size (1.5 oz / ≈44.3 ml) — sturdy, stack-friendly, and built to handle frequent service without fuss.

These shot glasses feel solid in the hand thanks to a thick, weighty base that keeps them steady on busy bar tops. The walls are even and clear, giving a nice, unobstructed view of the pour; the rim is smoothed for comfortable sipping.

They’re engineered for regular use: consistent dimensions, dependable weight, and a simple silhouette that suits both casual venues and more formal tasting counters. Designed to perform rather than show off.

  • Material: 100% clear glass for pure clarity and clean presentation.
  • Capacity: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml) — standard shot measure.
  • Base: heavy solid glass base that reduces tipping and improves balance.
  • Construction: restaurant-grade durability for frequent handling and washing.
  • Print-ready: suitable for single-sided print applications that withstand typical use.

Perfect for quick pours, samplers, and neat shots. Their compact footprint makes them easy to place on trays and tasting lines, while the heavier base keeps things steady during service.

  1. Bar service: quick, consistent pours — less wobble when carrying a tray of shots.
  2. Tastings: uniform size is handy for sampling flights or spirit tastings.
  3. Events: robust enough for pop-ups, festivals, and busy bartending shifts.

Storage tip: store upright and avoid tight stacking to protect rims and preserve clarity.

Dishwasher-safe for everyday cleaning — place on the top rack and use a normal household cycle. Repeated exposure to very high commercial temperatures can shorten glass life, so choose gentler programs where practical.

When you want to extend clarity and finish: hand-wash with warm water, a mild detergent, and a soft cloth; dry right away to avoid water spots. Handle by the body (not the rim) to reduce accidental chipping.

One size only: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml). Use the dimensions below for shelving, packaging, or tray planning.
