On a silhouetted right cylinder, a yellow border encloses a field divided into an upper third blue and lower two-thirds red. Centered on the field are a white five-pointed star above an upright white bayonet.

Symbolism

The colors blue, white, red, and yellow represent the Infantry, Artillery, and Armor components of the Brigade. The white bayonet signifies the Brigade’s fighting spirit, while the white star symbolizes Minnesota, the "Star of the North," where the Brigade’s headquarters is located.

Background

The shoulder sleeve insignia was approved on 1 November 1963 and amended to update the description on 18 May 1964.
