23FlagdiagonalGyronny8PB (Portugal) Shot Glass 1.5oz

Alternating blue and purple triangles spin out from a central point in a vivid eight-segment starburst.

Visual Elements & Composition

Blue and purple divide the field equally, each taking half of the surface across eight radiating segments. The triangles meet at the middle, and their long edges form a crisp, symmetrical star. Both colours are bright and saturated, so the contrast between neighbouring wedges is immediate. The design is purely geometric, with no text, numerals or figures to interrupt the pattern.

Meaning & Symbolism

The gyronny of eight is the standardised Portuguese field for a municipality whose seat has city (cidade) status. Its eight segments set city flags apart from those of towns, which use a quartered field, and villages, which use a plain one. The colours are taken from the primary tinctures of the municipality's own coat of arms, which normally sits at the centre. The system was regulated by Law no. 53/91 of 7 August 1991, although some city flags, Lisbon's among them, predate the law.

A Starburst in the Palm

A 1.5oz shot glass sits in the hand and is seen close, so the radiating wedges read clearly from the base to the rim. The blue and purple segments meet cleanly at the bottom of the glass and open toward the top, giving the pattern a sense of outward movement as you lift it. It makes a bright, compact piece for a home bar or a shelf of travel souvenirs.

Compact, heavy-based shot glasses made from clear, restaurant-grade glass. One standard size (1.5 oz / ≈44.3 ml) — sturdy, stack-friendly, and built to handle frequent service without fuss.

These shot glasses feel solid in the hand thanks to a thick, weighty base that keeps them steady on busy bar tops. The walls are even and clear, giving a nice, unobstructed view of the pour; the rim is smoothed for comfortable sipping.

They’re engineered for regular use: consistent dimensions, dependable weight, and a simple silhouette that suits both casual venues and more formal tasting counters. Designed to perform rather than show off.

  • Material: 100% clear glass for pure clarity and clean presentation.
  • Capacity: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml) — standard shot measure.
  • Base: heavy solid glass base that reduces tipping and improves balance.
  • Construction: restaurant-grade durability for frequent handling and washing.
  • Print-ready: suitable for single-sided print applications that withstand typical use.

Perfect for quick pours, samplers, and neat shots. Their compact footprint makes them easy to place on trays and tasting lines, while the heavier base keeps things steady during service.

  1. Bar service: quick, consistent pours — less wobble when carrying a tray of shots.
  2. Tastings: uniform size is handy for sampling flights or spirit tastings.
  3. Events: robust enough for pop-ups, festivals, and busy bartending shifts.

Storage tip: store upright and avoid tight stacking to protect rims and preserve clarity.

Dishwasher-safe for everyday cleaning — place on the top rack and use a normal household cycle. Repeated exposure to very high commercial temperatures can shorten glass life, so choose gentler programs where practical.

When you want to extend clarity and finish: hand-wash with warm water, a mild detergent, and a soft cloth; dry right away to avoid water spots. Handle by the body (not the rim) to reduce accidental chipping.

One size only: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml). Use the dimensions below for shelving, packaging, or tray planning.
