Description

A shield blazoned: Per chevron pean and Vert, a chevron enhanced Or, with a serpent entwined with a prickly pear cactus in base, all in gold. Attached below the shield is a gold scroll inscribed "FIGHT TO DEFEND" in green letters.

Symbolism

Yellow represents the historical connection with the U.S. Cavalry, while the spear-like gold point symbolizes the power and tactics of Cavalry forces. The black field with gold ermine spots (pean), along with the green field featuring a gold cactus and snake, alludes to the former 240th Tank Battalion, with which Troop A was historically associated.
