The 25th Surgical Hospital, also known as the "Evacuation Hospital" during its service, is a U.S. Army field hospital. Established on October 14, 1943, it played a significant role in World War II and later conflicts, providing essential medical care to wounded military personnel. The hospital was initially set up at Camp Myles Standish in Massachusetts before being deployed overseas. It earned recognition for its service during the Battle of Okinawa, where it treated over 12,000 patients. In post-war years, the 25th Surgical Hospital continued to serve, participating in operations such as the Korean War and Vietnam War. The hospital was deactivated on June 30, 1971, but its legacy lives on as a testament to the dedication and sacrifice of U.S. military medical personnel.
