Description/Blazon A white shield with arched top and bottom, featuring a blue barbed cross. At the base are two wavy bars, one red and one blue, conjoined but separated from the cross, bordered by a white fimbriation, all enclosed within a blue border.
Symbolism The blue and white colors represent Infantry. The blue cross symbolizes Hawaii's nickname, "Crossroads of the Pacific," with the barbed ends signifying the Brigade's protective mission. The red and blue conjoined bars, along with the white, are found on both the Hawaiian Flag and the Hawaiian Coat of Arms. The wavy bars symbolize Hawaii's geographic location overseas from the continental United States.
Background The shoulder sleeve insignia was initially approved for the 29th Infantry Brigade on 16 May 1968. It was redesignated for the 29th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, with updated description and symbolism on 18 December 2007.
