2e regiment de hussards-drapeau (France) Shot Glass 1.5oz

The tricolour regimental standard of a French hussar regiment, its blue, white and red bands inscribed with the battles it has carried into history.

Visual Elements & Composition

Three vertical bands of blue, white and red fill the rectangular field in the order of the national flag, and the three colours share the surface almost equally. The inscriptions are set in plain capitals across the bands: VALMY 1792, AUSTERLITZ 1805, FRIEDLAND 1807, ISLY 1844, SOLFERINO 1859, FLANDRES 1914 and L'AVRE 1918. The steady stripes and the ordered rows of names give the standard a formal, measured look.

Meaning & Symbolism

The regiment was founded in 1735, and its flag follows the tricolour format that French military standards took up after the national flag was adopted in 1791. Each battle name records an engagement in the regiment's service, from the Revolutionary wars to the Napoleonic campaigns and the battles of the First World War. The standard also carries the Croix de la Valeur Militaire, awarded for service in Afghanistan in 2012 and in the Central African Republic, which brings the regiment's history into the modern era.

Close to the Eye

A shot glass is small and held close, so the inscriptions can be read a line at a time as the glass is lifted. The vertical tricolour climbs the narrow body of the glass, and the blue, white and red bands read clearly from the front as the glass is turned.

Compact, heavy-based shot glasses made from clear, restaurant-grade glass. One standard size (1.5 oz / ≈44.3 ml) — sturdy, stack-friendly, and built to handle frequent service without fuss.

These shot glasses feel solid in the hand thanks to a thick, weighty base that keeps them steady on busy bar tops. The walls are even and clear, giving a nice, unobstructed view of the pour; the rim is smoothed for comfortable sipping.

They’re engineered for regular use: consistent dimensions, dependable weight, and a simple silhouette that suits both casual venues and more formal tasting counters. Designed to perform rather than show off.

  • Material: 100% clear glass for pure clarity and clean presentation.
  • Capacity: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml) — standard shot measure.
  • Base: heavy solid glass base that reduces tipping and improves balance.
  • Construction: restaurant-grade durability for frequent handling and washing.
  • Print-ready: suitable for single-sided print applications that withstand typical use.

Perfect for quick pours, samplers, and neat shots. Their compact footprint makes them easy to place on trays and tasting lines, while the heavier base keeps things steady during service.

  1. Bar service: quick, consistent pours — less wobble when carrying a tray of shots.
  2. Tastings: uniform size is handy for sampling flights or spirit tastings.
  3. Events: robust enough for pop-ups, festivals, and busy bartending shifts.

Storage tip: store upright and avoid tight stacking to protect rims and preserve clarity.

Dishwasher-safe for everyday cleaning — place on the top rack and use a normal household cycle. Repeated exposure to very high commercial temperatures can shorten glass life, so choose gentler programs where practical.

When you want to extend clarity and finish: hand-wash with warm water, a mild detergent, and a soft cloth; dry right away to avoid water spots. Handle by the body (not the rim) to reduce accidental chipping.

One size only: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml). Use the dimensions below for shelving, packaging, or tray planning.
