A red shield, arched at the top and base, featuring three vertical yellow arrows pointed upwards, encircled by a yellow band, red border.

Symbolism:

The three arrows represent missiles and the three main Ryukyu Islands where the unit was formerly stationed. The yellow band symbolizes a target area and resembles a zero, which, in combination with the arrows, reflects the unit's numerical designation.

Background:

The shoulder sleeve insignia was originally approved for the 30th Artillery Brigade on April 12, 1966. It was redesignated for the 30th Air Defense Artillery Brigade on April 4, 1972. The insignia was amended to update the description and symbolism on June 14, 2012, and to correct the description on May 28, 2013.
