Description
A shield blazoned: Gules, in chief a sunflower Or and in base a mullet of the second, within a bordure of the same. Attached below and to the sides of the shield is a gold scroll inscribed "SIEMPRE ADELANTE" in black letters.

Symbolism
The yellow-bordered shield signifies Cavalry, while the red field represents its service as Field Artillery, and the border indicates its current Cavalry status. The sunflower denotes the Regiment's birthplace in Kansas, and the star symbolizes its allocation to Texas. The motto translates to "Always Forward."

Background
The distinctive unit insignia was approved on September 15, 1925. It was rescinded on February 2, 1959.
