The 33rd Infantry Regiment is a unit of the United States Army, primarily recognized for its historical contributions and significant roles during various conflicts throughout the 20th century. Initially formed in 1917, the regiment was part of the National Guard and played a crucial role in both World Wars I and II. In World War I, it served on the Western Front and received the French Croix de Guerre with Palm for its actions during the Battle of Saint-Mihiel. During World War II, the 33rd Infantry Regiment fought notably in the invasions of North Africa and Sicily, as well as in the Battle of the Bulge in Europe.
