The wing's mission is to deliver strategic mobility and theater airpower to combatant commanders around the globe, ensuring the rapid deployment of troops and supplies when needed. Its aircraft fleet includes C-17 Globemaster III transport planes, KC-135 Stratotanker refueling aircraft, and MC-130 Hercules cargo planes, among others. The wing operates under Air Mobility Command.
