477th Fighter Group (U.S. Air Force) Color Changing Coffee Mug

The 477th Fighter Group is a unit of the United States Air Force. Established during World War II, it was one of the first African American units to serve in the U.S. military and flew combat missions from North Africa to Europe. Initially equipped with P-40 Warhawks, they later transitioned to P-51 Mustangs. The group saw action in key battles such as D-Day, Normandy, and the Battle of the Bulge. Post-war, the 477th played a role in the Korean War and was eventually deactivated in 1952. In 1991, it was reactivated as a training unit at Hulman Field, Indiana. The 477th Fighter Group continues to uphold a proud history of service and military aviation excellence within the U.S. Air Force.
