Description/Blazon
On a red disc, a black "hourglass" shape formed by two pyramids base-to-base, all enclosed within an Army green border.
Symbolism
The hourglass outline signifies the division's numerical designation, with the two inverted "7's" representing the number 77.
Background
The shoulder sleeve insignia was initially approved for the 7th Division by telegram on 23 October 1918 and officially announced by letter on 21 June 1922. It was redesignated for the 7th Infantry Division effective 1 January 1973 and amended to include the border on 14 April 1964.
