The 77th Aviation Brigade is a unit of the United States Army Aviation Branch, falling under the U.S. Army Aviation Center of Excellence and Fort Rucker's First Army Division East (Training). Established in 2013 after the merger of the 16th Combat Aviation Brigade and the 252nd Aviation Brigade, the 77th Aviation Brigade is responsible for providing command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (C4ISR) aviation support to all U.S. Army forces, as well as joint, interagency, and multinational partners. The brigade consists of multiple aviation battalions, each specialized in various rotary-wing aircraft such as Apache attack helicopters, Black Hawk utility helicopters, and Chinook heavy-lift transport helicopters. The 77th Aviation Brigade operates primarily from Fort Rucker, Alabama, but its units may be deployed worldwide to support ongoing military operations.
