8th California Infantry Regiment flag (United States) Shot Glass 1.5oz

This design reproduces the regimental colours of the 8th California Infantry, a Union unit whose flag still carries the stripes and stars of the national banner.

Visual Elements & Composition

Horizontal crimson and off-white stripes run across the full rectangle, with a navy blue field holding a cluster of 34 five-pointed stars. The flat vector style keeps the layout clean and easy to read. Lettering around the field reads 8TH, INFANTRY, C. and V., identifying the regiment and its volunteer status. The crimson takes the largest share of the palette, giving the flag its strong, immediate presence.

Meaning & Symbolism

The 8th California Infantry was raised in the closing months of the American Civil War and mustered into federal service between March and October 1865. Its men mostly garrisoned posts around San Francisco Bay, including Alcatraz Island and Fort Point, and along the Columbia River. Because the war ended within days of their formation, the regiment saw little combat. The colours stood for loyalty to the Union and regimental pride, and the flag is one of only four surviving national colours from California volunteer units of the war.

Holding the Shot

A shot glass is small and held close, so the flag sits right in the hand at the moment of the toast. The compact rectangle of stripes and stars fits the scale of the glass, and each tilt of the glass brings the regimental colours into view. It is a piece of Civil War history that is meant to be raised, not just displayed.

Compact, heavy-based shot glasses made from clear, restaurant-grade glass. One standard size (1.5 oz / ≈44.3 ml) — sturdy, stack-friendly, and built to handle frequent service without fuss.

These shot glasses feel solid in the hand thanks to a thick, weighty base that keeps them steady on busy bar tops. The walls are even and clear, giving a nice, unobstructed view of the pour; the rim is smoothed for comfortable sipping.

They’re engineered for regular use: consistent dimensions, dependable weight, and a simple silhouette that suits both casual venues and more formal tasting counters. Designed to perform rather than show off.

  • Material: 100% clear glass for pure clarity and clean presentation.
  • Capacity: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml) — standard shot measure.
  • Base: heavy solid glass base that reduces tipping and improves balance.
  • Construction: restaurant-grade durability for frequent handling and washing.
  • Print-ready: suitable for single-sided print applications that withstand typical use.

Perfect for quick pours, samplers, and neat shots. Their compact footprint makes them easy to place on trays and tasting lines, while the heavier base keeps things steady during service.

  1. Bar service: quick, consistent pours — less wobble when carrying a tray of shots.
  2. Tastings: uniform size is handy for sampling flights or spirit tastings.
  3. Events: robust enough for pop-ups, festivals, and busy bartending shifts.

Storage tip: store upright and avoid tight stacking to protect rims and preserve clarity.

Dishwasher-safe for everyday cleaning — place on the top rack and use a normal household cycle. Repeated exposure to very high commercial temperatures can shorten glass life, so choose gentler programs where practical.

When you want to extend clarity and finish: hand-wash with warm water, a mild detergent, and a soft cloth; dry right away to avoid water spots. Handle by the body (not the rim) to reduce accidental chipping.

One size only: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml). Use the dimensions below for shelving, packaging, or tray planning.
