Symbolism
The five-bastioned fort represents the badge of the Fifth Army Corps in Cuba, with which the Ninth Cavalry was associated. The yellow outline signifies the Cavalry, while the blue denotes active service during the Spanish-American War. The mounted Indian symbolizes the Regiment’s participation in Indian campaigns.
