Alexander Ypsilantis flag obverse (Greece) Shot Glass 1.5oz

A horizontal red, white and black tricolour carries a red cross inside a green laurel wreath, a solemn emblem from the 1821 Greek War of Independence.

Visual Elements & Composition

The flag is built from three horizontal bands of black, white and red, with black and white sharing most of the field. The red cross and the green laurel wreath sit as a central emblem, adding a small note of colour to the stark palette. The shapes are flat and bold, with clean edges and a symmetrical layout that puts the emblem at the heart of the design.

Meaning & Symbolism

This is the obverse of the flag raised by Alexander Ypsilantis and his Sacred Band during the rebellion of 1821 in Moldavia and Wallachia. The Greek inscription beneath the emblem reads En Touto Nika, meaning "In this sign, conquer," and it pairs with the religious imagery of Saints Constantine and Helena to express Eastern Orthodox faith and the justice of the cause. Red stands for sovereignty, white for innocence and black for sacrifice for the homeland. The flag was superseded in 1822 by the blue-and-white flag adopted by the Provisional Government of Greece.

Held Close on the Shot Glass

A shot glass is small and held close, so the wreath and cross come into view as the glass is lifted. The black and white bands carry strongly through the clear glass, and the central emblem stays sharp at that scale.

Compact, heavy-based shot glasses made from clear, restaurant-grade glass. One standard size (1.5 oz / ≈44.3 ml) — sturdy, stack-friendly, and built to handle frequent service without fuss.

These shot glasses feel solid in the hand thanks to a thick, weighty base that keeps them steady on busy bar tops. The walls are even and clear, giving a nice, unobstructed view of the pour; the rim is smoothed for comfortable sipping.

They’re engineered for regular use: consistent dimensions, dependable weight, and a simple silhouette that suits both casual venues and more formal tasting counters. Designed to perform rather than show off.

  • Material: 100% clear glass for pure clarity and clean presentation.
  • Capacity: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml) — standard shot measure.
  • Base: heavy solid glass base that reduces tipping and improves balance.
  • Construction: restaurant-grade durability for frequent handling and washing.
  • Print-ready: suitable for single-sided print applications that withstand typical use.

Perfect for quick pours, samplers, and neat shots. Their compact footprint makes them easy to place on trays and tasting lines, while the heavier base keeps things steady during service.

  1. Bar service: quick, consistent pours — less wobble when carrying a tray of shots.
  2. Tastings: uniform size is handy for sampling flights or spirit tastings.
  3. Events: robust enough for pop-ups, festivals, and busy bartending shifts.

Storage tip: store upright and avoid tight stacking to protect rims and preserve clarity.

Dishwasher-safe for everyday cleaning — place on the top rack and use a normal household cycle. Repeated exposure to very high commercial temperatures can shorten glass life, so choose gentler programs where practical.

When you want to extend clarity and finish: hand-wash with warm water, a mild detergent, and a soft cloth; dry right away to avoid water spots. Handle by the body (not the rim) to reduce accidental chipping.

One size only: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml). Use the dimensions below for shelving, packaging, or tray planning.
