Altai SSR flag submission 2 (Russia) Shot Glass 1.5oz

A red-dominated flat-vector proposal for the Gorno-Altai Soviet Socialist Republic, built on diagonal stripes and carrying a hammer and sickle emblem.

Visual Elements & Composition

Red covers the largest share of the flag, with white close behind and small touches of blue, green and yellow. Diagonal stripes run across the field and give the layout its movement. A circular emblem holds the hammer and sickle, with a red star, a mountain motif, a rising sun and wave shapes around it. Cyrillic inscriptions appear on the design, naming the Gorno-Altai and Altai SSR. The composition is busier than a simple banner and asks for a longer look.

Meaning & Symbolism

P. Tyshkylov and P. Yabogan submitted this proposal in 1991, during the transition of the Gorno-Altai region into a Soviet republic. The hammer and sickle and the red star were the standard language of Soviet civic symbolism, and the mountain, sun and waves were meant to tie that vocabulary to the region's landscape. The design was not adopted as the official symbol, so it stands as a record of how the regional identity was framed in the final years of the Soviet era.

Detail Up Close

A shot glass is small and held close, so the emblem and its inscriptions are read at arm's length rather than across a room. The emblem sits in the centre of the view as the glass is lifted, and the diagonal stripes wrap the curve. It is a fitting piece for a home bar or a collection of travel souvenirs, and a way to keep a rare period artefact of Altai political design in view.

Compact, heavy-based shot glasses made from clear, restaurant-grade glass. One standard size (1.5 oz / ≈44.3 ml) — sturdy, stack-friendly, and built to handle frequent service without fuss.

These shot glasses feel solid in the hand thanks to a thick, weighty base that keeps them steady on busy bar tops. The walls are even and clear, giving a nice, unobstructed view of the pour; the rim is smoothed for comfortable sipping.

They’re engineered for regular use: consistent dimensions, dependable weight, and a simple silhouette that suits both casual venues and more formal tasting counters. Designed to perform rather than show off.

  • Material: 100% clear glass for pure clarity and clean presentation.
  • Capacity: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml) — standard shot measure.
  • Base: heavy solid glass base that reduces tipping and improves balance.
  • Construction: restaurant-grade durability for frequent handling and washing.
  • Print-ready: suitable for single-sided print applications that withstand typical use.

Perfect for quick pours, samplers, and neat shots. Their compact footprint makes them easy to place on trays and tasting lines, while the heavier base keeps things steady during service.

  1. Bar service: quick, consistent pours — less wobble when carrying a tray of shots.
  2. Tastings: uniform size is handy for sampling flights or spirit tastings.
  3. Events: robust enough for pop-ups, festivals, and busy bartending shifts.

Storage tip: store upright and avoid tight stacking to protect rims and preserve clarity.

Dishwasher-safe for everyday cleaning — place on the top rack and use a normal household cycle. Repeated exposure to very high commercial temperatures can shorten glass life, so choose gentler programs where practical.

When you want to extend clarity and finish: hand-wash with warm water, a mild detergent, and a soft cloth; dry right away to avoid water spots. Handle by the body (not the rim) to reduce accidental chipping.

One size only: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml). Use the dimensions below for shelving, packaging, or tray planning.
