Arms of Weymouth and Portland Borough Council (England) Shot Glass - Design

This shot glass showcases the intricate and symbolic design of the Coat of Arms of Weymouth and Portland Borough Council. Granted on March 14, 2022, the artwork celebrates the area's rich maritime history and significant heritage.

Central Emblem: The Ship and Waves

At the heart of the design is a striking ship with three masts, meticulously rendered in gold against a backdrop of azure (blue) representing the sea. The ship, a powerful symbol of Weymouth's maritime tradition and port status, is set upon waves depicted in their natural colors.

Pennons and Banners

The masts of the ship proudly fly pennons of St George, symbolizing the town's English heritage and allegiance to the Crown. The ship also features two square banners. The first banner is per pale (vertically divided) gules (red) and vert (green) displaying three gold lions passant guardant in pale (arranged vertically). The second banner is quarterly (divided into four quadrants) argent (silver/white) and gules. The first quarter shows a purple lion rampant, and the second quarter features a triple-towered gold tower.

Escutcheon on the Ship

An escutcheon (shield) is placed on the ship's hull. This shield is per fesse (horizontally divided) or (gold) and gules. In the chief (upper portion) are three chevronels also gules. The base features three gold lions passant guardant in pale.

Crest and Supporters

Above the ship, a crest sits atop a golden naval crown, further emphasizing the town's naval connections. The crest depicts two black lions rampant, facing each other, with red tongues and claws. They hold between their forepaws a block of Portland stone, representing the significant building material from the Isle of Portland. The entire crest is mantled gules (red), lined with argent (silver).

The design is supported by sea lions, one on each side. The upper parts of the sea lions are gold, while the lower parts are rendered in their natural colors. The dexter (right side, from the viewer's perspective) sea lion holds a fishing net, while the sinister (left) sea lion holds an anchor with a black rope, highlighting the town's fishing industry and maritime activities.

Compact, heavy-based shot glasses made from clear, restaurant-grade glass. One standard size (1.5 oz / ≈44.3 ml) — sturdy, stack-friendly, and built to handle frequent service without fuss.

These shot glasses feel solid in the hand thanks to a thick, weighty base that keeps them steady on busy bar tops. The walls are even and clear, giving a nice, unobstructed view of the pour; the rim is smoothed for comfortable sipping.

They’re engineered for regular use: consistent dimensions, dependable weight, and a simple silhouette that suits both casual venues and more formal tasting counters. Designed to perform rather than show off.

  • Material: 100% clear glass for pure clarity and clean presentation.
  • Capacity: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml) — standard shot measure.
  • Base: heavy solid glass base that reduces tipping and improves balance.
  • Construction: restaurant-grade durability for frequent handling and washing.
  • Print-ready: suitable for single-sided print applications that withstand typical use.

Perfect for quick pours, samplers, and neat shots. Their compact footprint makes them easy to place on trays and tasting lines, while the heavier base keeps things steady during service.

  1. Bar service: quick, consistent pours — less wobble when carrying a tray of shots.
  2. Tastings: uniform size is handy for sampling flights or spirit tastings.
  3. Events: robust enough for pop-ups, festivals, and busy bartending shifts.

Storage tip: store upright and avoid tight stacking to protect rims and preserve clarity.

Dishwasher-safe for everyday cleaning — place on the top rack and use a normal household cycle. Repeated exposure to very high commercial temperatures can shorten glass life, so choose gentler programs where practical.

When you want to extend clarity and finish: hand-wash with warm water, a mild detergent, and a soft cloth; dry right away to avoid water spots. Handle by the body (not the rim) to reduce accidental chipping.

One size only: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml). Use the dimensions below for shelving, packaging, or tray planning.
