Banner of Surrey County Council (England) Shot Glass 1.5oz

A blue and gold chequered field, the Warenne checks of Surrey, carries a pair of gold keys and a silver oak sprig at its centre.

Visual Elements & Composition

The checked pattern dominates, with blue and gold squares repeating across a rectangular field. Blue and black make up most of the surface, with gold and silver as the highlights. Two gold keys with ornate bows cross the middle of the design, and a silver oak sprig with an acorn and leaves sits beside them. A silver woolpack, a cushion-like shape, completes the emblem. The forms are flat and crisp, with no text, so the pattern and the charges read as one heraldic image.

Meaning & Symbolism

The chequered pattern is known as the Warenne checks and comes from the coat of arms of William de Warenne, 2nd Earl of Surrey. The de Warenne family was the first dynasty to hold the Earldom of Surrey, and the design keeps that line of ancestry visible. The county's flag was adopted by Surrey County Council in August 2014 and registered by the Flag Institute in September of that year. The keys, oak and woolpack are traditional heraldic charges that speak to the identity of the county.

Shaped by the Shot Glass

A shot glass is small and held close, lifted to eye level for a moment before it is tipped back. At that distance the blue and gold checks fill the view and the keys stand out in the centre. As the glass turns in the hand, the oak sprig and woolpack come into view, so the county emblem reads clearly at close range.

Compact, heavy-based shot glasses made from clear, restaurant-grade glass. One standard size (1.5 oz / ≈44.3 ml) — sturdy, stack-friendly, and built to handle frequent service without fuss.

These shot glasses feel solid in the hand thanks to a thick, weighty base that keeps them steady on busy bar tops. The walls are even and clear, giving a nice, unobstructed view of the pour; the rim is smoothed for comfortable sipping.

They’re engineered for regular use: consistent dimensions, dependable weight, and a simple silhouette that suits both casual venues and more formal tasting counters. Designed to perform rather than show off.

  • Material: 100% clear glass for pure clarity and clean presentation.
  • Capacity: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml) — standard shot measure.
  • Base: heavy solid glass base that reduces tipping and improves balance.
  • Construction: restaurant-grade durability for frequent handling and washing.
  • Print-ready: suitable for single-sided print applications that withstand typical use.

Perfect for quick pours, samplers, and neat shots. Their compact footprint makes them easy to place on trays and tasting lines, while the heavier base keeps things steady during service.

  1. Bar service: quick, consistent pours — less wobble when carrying a tray of shots.
  2. Tastings: uniform size is handy for sampling flights or spirit tastings.
  3. Events: robust enough for pop-ups, festivals, and busy bartending shifts.

Storage tip: store upright and avoid tight stacking to protect rims and preserve clarity.

Dishwasher-safe for everyday cleaning — place on the top rack and use a normal household cycle. Repeated exposure to very high commercial temperatures can shorten glass life, so choose gentler programs where practical.

When you want to extend clarity and finish: hand-wash with warm water, a mild detergent, and a soft cloth; dry right away to avoid water spots. Handle by the body (not the rim) to reduce accidental chipping.

One size only: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml). Use the dimensions below for shelving, packaging, or tray planning.
