Banner of the Qulla Suyu 1979 (Argentina) Shot Glass 1.5oz

A diagonal grid of rainbow-coloured squares, the Wiphala pattern, forms this flat vector banner for the Qulla Suyu, designed in 1979 by Germán Choque Condori.

Visual Elements & Composition

The design is built on a precise grid of small squares arranged in a repeating diagonal sequence. Each square carries one of a set of high-contrast colours, including red, yellow, green, blue and white, so no single hue dominates and the eye moves across the whole field. The geometry is exact and symmetrical, and the clean edges between squares keep every colour distinct, even at a small size.

Meaning & Symbolism

The Wiphala is a flag of the Andean peoples, and this variant honours the Qulla Suyu, or Collasuyo, one of the four quarters of the Inca Empire, Tawantinsuyo. That territory covered parts of what are now Peru, Bolivia, Chile and Argentina. The grid expresses Andean cosmogony, with its themes of solidarity and unity in diversity, and it was created by Germán Choque Condori in 1979 as a statement of cultural identity.

Held Close in the Hand

A shot glass is small and lifted close to the face, so the grid is taken in square by square as the glass comes up. The compact 1.5oz form gives the pattern a tight, contained surface, and each colour stays crisp against its neighbours every time the glass is set back down.

Compact, heavy-based shot glasses made from clear, restaurant-grade glass. One standard size (1.5 oz / ≈44.3 ml) — sturdy, stack-friendly, and built to handle frequent service without fuss.

These shot glasses feel solid in the hand thanks to a thick, weighty base that keeps them steady on busy bar tops. The walls are even and clear, giving a nice, unobstructed view of the pour; the rim is smoothed for comfortable sipping.

They’re engineered for regular use: consistent dimensions, dependable weight, and a simple silhouette that suits both casual venues and more formal tasting counters. Designed to perform rather than show off.

  • Material: 100% clear glass for pure clarity and clean presentation.
  • Capacity: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml) — standard shot measure.
  • Base: heavy solid glass base that reduces tipping and improves balance.
  • Construction: restaurant-grade durability for frequent handling and washing.
  • Print-ready: suitable for single-sided print applications that withstand typical use.

Perfect for quick pours, samplers, and neat shots. Their compact footprint makes them easy to place on trays and tasting lines, while the heavier base keeps things steady during service.

  1. Bar service: quick, consistent pours — less wobble when carrying a tray of shots.
  2. Tastings: uniform size is handy for sampling flights or spirit tastings.
  3. Events: robust enough for pop-ups, festivals, and busy bartending shifts.

Storage tip: store upright and avoid tight stacking to protect rims and preserve clarity.

Dishwasher-safe for everyday cleaning — place on the top rack and use a normal household cycle. Repeated exposure to very high commercial temperatures can shorten glass life, so choose gentler programs where practical.

When you want to extend clarity and finish: hand-wash with warm water, a mild detergent, and a soft cloth; dry right away to avoid water spots. Handle by the body (not the rim) to reduce accidental chipping.

One size only: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml). Use the dimensions below for shelving, packaging, or tray planning.
