Bataafse Republiek nationale vlag (Netherlands) Shot Glass 1.5oz

The national flag of the Batavian Republic, a plain red, white and blue tricolour from the revolutionary years of the Netherlands.

Visual Elements & Composition

Three equal horizontal bands run the full width of the rectangle: crimson red at the top, white in the middle and sky blue at the foot. No band dominates, so the eye takes in the flag as a balanced sequence of stripes. There is no lettering or emblem on the field itself. The flat, unshaded colour keeps each band crisp, which suits the clean lines of the design.

Meaning & Symbolism

The States General decreed this flag on 14 February 1796 and introduced it as the official naval ensign on 1 March 1796. It replaced the orange, white and blue Prince's Flag, a deliberate break from the House of Orange and an alignment with the revolutionary ideals of the French Republic. Historical naval versions carried a jack in the upper left corner, bearing the Dutch Maiden, a lion and a liberty hat, which marks the period's political turn.

On the Shot Glass

A shot glass is small and held close, so the three stripes sit at eye level as the glass is raised. Horizontal bands suit the curved wall well, since each stripe keeps its straight edge and width all the way round the vessel. It is a fitting piece of revolutionary history for a home bar or a collector's shelf.

Compact, heavy-based shot glasses made from clear, restaurant-grade glass. One standard size (1.5 oz / ≈44.3 ml) — sturdy, stack-friendly, and built to handle frequent service without fuss.

These shot glasses feel solid in the hand thanks to a thick, weighty base that keeps them steady on busy bar tops. The walls are even and clear, giving a nice, unobstructed view of the pour; the rim is smoothed for comfortable sipping.

They’re engineered for regular use: consistent dimensions, dependable weight, and a simple silhouette that suits both casual venues and more formal tasting counters. Designed to perform rather than show off.

  • Material: 100% clear glass for pure clarity and clean presentation.
  • Capacity: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml) — standard shot measure.
  • Base: heavy solid glass base that reduces tipping and improves balance.
  • Construction: restaurant-grade durability for frequent handling and washing.
  • Print-ready: suitable for single-sided print applications that withstand typical use.

Perfect for quick pours, samplers, and neat shots. Their compact footprint makes them easy to place on trays and tasting lines, while the heavier base keeps things steady during service.

  1. Bar service: quick, consistent pours — less wobble when carrying a tray of shots.
  2. Tastings: uniform size is handy for sampling flights or spirit tastings.
  3. Events: robust enough for pop-ups, festivals, and busy bartending shifts.

Storage tip: store upright and avoid tight stacking to protect rims and preserve clarity.

Dishwasher-safe for everyday cleaning — place on the top rack and use a normal household cycle. Repeated exposure to very high commercial temperatures can shorten glass life, so choose gentler programs where practical.

When you want to extend clarity and finish: hand-wash with warm water, a mild detergent, and a soft cloth; dry right away to avoid water spots. Handle by the body (not the rim) to reduce accidental chipping.

One size only: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml). Use the dimensions below for shelving, packaging, or tray planning.
