This design takes the form of a road sign and ties it to Belgium through its title and catalogue code, BE-N886.
Visual Elements & Composition
The graphic is built around a single sign-style motif, set against the clean white of the ceramic. Nothing is crowded around it, so the eye lands on the sign first. The alphanumeric code BE-N886 and the country name work as the only text, giving the piece a plain, direct layout that reads at a glance.
Meaning & Symbolism
A road sign is one of the most familiar pieces of public design a country produces. Each one carries a shared visual language that drivers, pedestrians and cyclists read without thinking, which makes it a quiet marker of national identity. Here that idea is pinned to Belgium, the country named in the title, so the design speaks to place and belonging rather than to any single story.
Made for Your Morning Brew
A mug is turned in the hand and read from every angle, so a sign-style graphic suits it well. As you rotate it, the design comes round one side at a time, the way a roadside sign is passed. It is a conversation starter for anyone who has driven, cycled or lived in Belgium, and a cheeky nod for anyone who simply loves a good coffee and a good map.
