A black route shield on a clean white field carries the designation BR-619 and the jct label of a Brazilian federal highway junction.
Visual Elements & Composition
White dominates, covering roughly six-sevenths of the artwork, while black draws the shield outline, the border and the lettering. The shield is a flat vector form with a rounded base and a pointed notch at its lower centre, framed by a double-line edge. BR and the numerals 619 sit in the body of the shield, and the junction label is set plainly beneath. Nothing else appears on the surface, so the sign is read directly.
Meaning & Symbolism
The BR prefix identifies a federal highway in Brazil, and the three-digit figure places this road within the national network. The jct label marks a junction, a place where routes meet, split or change direction. The shield is the familiar form of Brazilian road signage, so the design stands for the wayfinding that moves traffic across the country.
Turned in the Hand
A mug is rotated as it is lifted and set down, so the shield travels around the curve of the cup and comes into view in sections. The double border follows the wall of the mug, and the BR 619 lettering remains upright from the handle side. The open white ground keeps the sign easy to pick out from any angle.
