BR-689 jct (Brazil) (Road Sign) Color Changing Mug 11oz

This design reproduces a Brazilian federal highway marker: the route number BR 689 set inside a shield outline, rendered in stark black and white.

Visual Elements & Composition

White fills most of the frame, roughly three-quarters of the field, with black taking the rest. The shield sits centred and dominates the composition, its rounded top tapering to a pointed notch at the base. A double-line border traces the outline, giving the sign a crisp, engraved edge. The numerals 689 and the letters BR are set boldly within it, with nothing competing for attention. The flat vector style keeps every shape clean and deliberate.

Meaning & Symbolism

Route markers like this one are how drivers navigate Brazil's federal road network. The BR prefix identifies the highway as federal, and the three-digit number places it within that system. The "jct" in the title points to a junction, the place where routes meet and drivers must choose a direction. Reduced to shield, number and border, the artwork celebrates the quiet graphic language of the road, the signage that guides a journey without a word of explanation.

Made for the Hand

A mug is turned and lifted, so this sign is seen from every angle as it is carried to the table. The shield wraps around the vessel, and as the mug warms, the design comes into view, so the route marker appears as the morning coffee is poured. It makes a practical, slightly cheeky gift for anyone who has ever missed a turning.
