BR-692 jct (Brazil) (Road Sign) Color Changing Mug 11oz

This is a stark, confident piece of road signage: the route marker of Brazil's BR-692 highway, rendered in flat black and white.

Visual Elements & Composition

Black and white do all the work here, with white covering most of the field and black taking the rest in crisp outlines. The dominant form is a shield, rounded at the top and notched to a pointed base, drawn with a double outline that gives it the sturdy, official look of a roadside marker. Inside it, the letters BR sit above the route number 692, with nothing else competing for attention. The layout is symmetrical and centred, so the eye lands straight on the designation.

Meaning & Symbolism

The shield is the language of Brazilian federal highways. The "BR" prefix identifies the road as a federal route, and "692" is its number within the national network, while "jct" marks a junction where this road meets another. The artwork celebrates the quiet logic of transport infrastructure, where a simple code tells a driver exactly where they are and where the road leads. It is a modern design, reduced to the essentials of wayfinding.

Designed for the Hand

A mug is held and turned, so the shield is read a little at a time as you lift it, its double outline tracing around the curve of the cup. Coffee-drinkers will see the route number come and go as the mug changes colour, which suits a sign that is all about revealing where you are. Give it to someone who has spent long hours on the open road, or to anyone who likes their décor with a sense of direction.
