BR-720 jct (Brazil) (Road Sign) White Coffee Mug
This design renders a Brazilian federal highway shield bearing the route code BR-720 and the word jct, the marker used where that road meets another route.
Visual Elements & Composition
Black and white are the only colours, with black covering roughly a fifth of the artwork and white the rest. The shield is a flat vector form with a rounded base and a central point cut into its lower edge, boxed by a double outline. The letters BR and the numerals 720 sit in the centre of the shield, and the jct marker is set plainly beneath them. The layout is symmetrical and uncluttered, so the sign reads quickly.
Meaning & Symbolism
In Brazil the BR prefix identifies federal highways, and the three-digit number places the route within the national network. The jct label signals a junction, a point where traffic joins, splits or changes direction. The design therefore stands for wayfinding itself: a short code that tells a driver where they are and which road they are on. Its styling follows the modern, functional conventions of road signage.
Held in the Hand
A mug is turned in the hand while it is drunk from, so the shield moves across the curve of the ceramic and is seen in parts as the cup rotates. The double border holds its shape around the wall of the mug, and the centred BR 720 lettering stays readable from the handle side. Each refill brings the same junction marker back into view.
