BR-783 jct (Brazil) (Road Sign) Color Changing Mug 11oz

This design is a flat, black-and-white road marker: a shield-shaped highway sign carrying the code BR 783 and the abbreviation JCT, set against Brazil.

Visual Elements & Composition

White dominates the layout, taking up roughly three-quarters of the field, with black supplying the rest in the outlines and lettering. The shield has a rounded bottom with a pointed notch at its centre, and a double-lined border runs around its edge like a pressed frame. The composition is centred and direct, with nothing around the shield to compete with it. The letters BR and 783 are the main event, and they read clearly from a short distance.

Meaning & Symbolism

In Brazil, BR marks a federal highway, and the number that follows identifies the route within the national network. JCT is the standard abbreviation for junction, the point where one road meets another. Put together, the sign reads as a navigational waypoint, the kind of marker a driver reads at speed to know where they are. The artwork takes that functional language and presents it as a clean, modern graphic, turning roadside information into a piece of design.

Made for the Hand, Not the Wall

A mug is turned in the hand, so this shield gets read one side at a time as the cup rotates, the border and lettering coming round in sequence. The black exterior and white interior of this mug echo the sign's own two colours, so the object feels like it was built around the artwork rather than just printed with it. It is a fitting choice for anyone who likes their travel memorabilia a little more understated, and a fine pick for a road-tripper, a transport enthusiast, or someone with a soft spot for Brazil.
